Our firm was founded in 1991. Since then the firm has expanded to meet the demands of our growing clientele. Today the firm is led by our team of partners and associates dedicated to delivering our clients cost-effective yet world class service. 

Partners

Jane Raba, P.E. directs the structural engineering department within RA and founded the Support-of-Excavation Division. Prior to joining RA, she held the engineering license for the Electric Distribution Engineering Structures Department of Consolidated Edison where Ms. Raba developed a long term structural asset management program for the maintenance and upkeep of existing underground structures. She has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Raba has over two decades of experience in the field of structural forensics, historic preservation, and soil structure interaction and she has served on the Board of the ASCE Metropolitan Section Geotechnical Group.

Nidal AbiSaab, P.E. joined the firm in 2007. He presents nearly two decades of Geotechnical Engineering experience in urban environments. His experience includes design of foundation and support of excavation design, numerical modeling, and instrumentation. Mr. AbiSaab completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the Lebanese American University and a Master of Science in Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.

Joseph Caciola, P.E. joined the firm in 2010 and became an Associate in 2018. Mr. Caciola received a Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College. He is a licensed engineer in New York and is currently an active member of the Metropolitan Section of ASCE. 


Consultants

Founder & Consultant: Bob Alperstein, P.E., D.GE. founded RA in 1991.  He had worked for 27 years in several geotechnical consulting firms before founding the firm.  Mr. Alperstein had been a vice president or held ownership positions in those firms for about 15 years and developed a professional reputation for providing quality and timely geotechnical engineering services and personal integrity.  He has published over a dozen articles relating to practical aspects of geotechnical engineering. Mr. Alperstein completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering at Cooper Union and a Master of Geotechnical Engineering at MIT.
